Health Insurance Marketplace 101


The Health Insurance Marketplace 101 webcast, presented by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), provides an overview of the Affordable Care Act, and the new Health Insurance Marketplace. The enrollment process, and available options for coverage are also discussed.



Tarnisha Brown is a Health Insurance Specialist in the Office of Communications.  In this role, her focus is training related to the programs that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services administers to help people make informed health care decisions. She has a broad and diverse training background that includes instructional design.  Ms. Brown received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland and earned her Master of Science in Health Services Administration from Central Michigan University.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) developed and approved this presentation. CMS is the Federal agency that administers Medicare, Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and the Health Insurance Marketplace.
