General Responsibility to counsel and guide campers in daily living and to facilitate friendship and understanding among campers Specific Responsibilities - Work under direction of Camp Director and designated staff as part of camp team
- Live in a cabin with a group of same sex campers
- Supervise all assigned aspects of the campers' day including wake-up, cabin clean-up, meal times, rest times, getting ready for bed, and nighttime supervision
- Assume responsibility for leadership and guidance of those campers in daily living, with special attention to campers' personal hygiene and safety, participation in activities, mealtime behavior, and habits
- Serve as a good example in personal language, appearance, rest, and health habits
- Provide opportunities for discussion of individual or group problems or concerns
- Create a safe environment in which participants feel accepted by staff and peers
- Lead, participate in, and assist with activities as assigned
Essential Functions - Ability to assist campers in emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, injury)
- Ability to maintain constant supervision of campers
- Ability to observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques
- Ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the cabin group
Specific Qualifications - High school graduate or equivalent
- At least 19 years of age
- Experience working with young people
- Ability to put others' needs before own
- Strong work ethic
- Good character/ability to make difficult decisions in the face of adversity
- Ability to relate to adults of all ages, as well as to children
- Flexibility and ability to accept supervision and guidance
- Good communication skills
- Desire and ability to work with children and adults with IBD in a camp setting
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications helpful

Activity Specialist (position not available at CA, MI, MO, NC, WI)
General Responsibility to prepare and lead camp activities and keep activity area clean Specific Responsibilities - Work under the direction of Camp Director to design and implement assigned activities
- Lead daily activities in area of specialty; write lesson plans as needed
- Teach and monitor proper use of related equipment
- Assist in setting up and packing up activity areas
- Assume or assist with cabin counseling duties as assigned
Essential Functions - Ability to plan, conduct, and evaluate designated activities
- Ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards
Specific Qualifications - High school graduate or equivalent
- At least 19 years of age
- Training, experience, and certification (if required) in assigned activity area(s)
- Ability to determine need for supplies and equipment, and submit requests prior to camp
- Experience working with/instructing young people
- Ability to put others' needs before own
- Strong work ethic
- Good character/ability to make difficult decisions in the face of adversity
- Ability to relate to adults of all ages, as well as to children

Junior Counselor (position not available at CA, GA, NC, PA, TX, WI)
General Responsibility to assist cabin counselors in counseling and guiding campers in daily living and to facilitate friendship and understanding among campers Specific Responsibilities - Work under direction of Camp Director and designated staff as part of camp team
- Assist cabin counselors in supervising all assigned aspects of the campers' day, including wake-up, cabin clean-up, meal times, rest times, getting ready for bed, and nighttime supervision, or assist activity specialists in the coordination of assigned activities
- Serve as a good example in personal language, appearance, rest, and health habits
Essential Functions - Ability to assist cabin counselors or activity specialists with campers in emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, injury)
- Ability to assist in maintaining constant supervision of campers
- Ability to assist in observing camper behavior, assessing its appropriateness and applying appropriate behavior-management techniques as directed
- Ability to assist cabin counselors in identifying and responding to environmental and other hazards related to the cabin group

Camp Nurse
General Responsibility to assist in overseeing the camp's medical operations according to the camp mission, guiding principles, and medical manual; to distribute medication, keep medical records, and assist Camp Physician(s) Specific Responsibilities:
- Assist in staff training related to Health Center, Medical Manual and OSHA requirements
- Carry out medical procedures as directed by the Medical Director & Camp Physician(s)
- Prepare and maintain Camp Health Center
- Properly store and dispense any medicines brought to camp by campers and staff, in accordance with the Camp Medical Manual and with the local state's laws
- Complete appropriate forms (Incident Reports, Medication Log, etc.) in a timely manner
- Assist in evaluating the entire camp operation with suggestions for the following season
- As needed, speak with campers' parents
- Perform other duties as designated by the Medical Director & Camp Director
Essential Functions: - Ability to assist in staff training
- Ability to help monitor health and safety of camp population
- Ability to provide care under the instruction of the Medical Director & Camp Physician(s) Ability to reach patients on rugged terrain
Specific Qualifications - Possess a valid license and insurance to work as a nurse in the state in which camp is located or obtain appropriate reciprocity
- Desire and ability to work with children and adults with IBD in a camp setting
- Preferred: Experience with pediatric GI patients or emergency rooms
- Preferred: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training

Camp Physician
General Responsibility to oversee the camp's medical operations according to the camp mission, guiding principles, and medical manual; to supervise all medical care Specific Responsibilities - Assume overall responsibility for any medical situation that may arise
- Assist with staff training, discussing IBD in children and its impact
- Provide direction on and supervise all treatment and medical procedures
- Order medications (if needed)
- Transfer care to and from other camp physicians upon arrival and departure from camp
- Complete appropriate forms (Incident Reports, Medications Log, etc.) in a timely manner
- Assist in evaluating the entire camp operation with suggestions for the following season
- As needed, speak with campers' parents
- Perform other duties as designated by Medical Director & Camp Director
Essential Functions - Ability to assist in staff training
- Ability to help monitor health and safety of the camp population
- Ability to diagnose ailments and provide care as needed
- Ability to reach patients on rugged terrain
Specific Qualifications - Possess valid DEA and physician's licenses and insurance to practice medicine in the state in which camp is located or obtain appropriate reciprocity
- Desire and ability to work with children and adults with IBD in a camp setting
- Preferred: Experience with pediatric GI patients or emergency rooms
- Preferred: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training

Camp Mental Health Professional
General Responsibility to provide social and psychological support to campers and to train staff in accordance with the camp mission, guiding principles and medical manual Specific Responsibilities - Assist with staff orientation, discussing various scenarios that typically arise at camp and ways to contact the mental health provider when there is a need
- Assist in evaluating the entire camp operation with suggestions for the following season
- As needed, speak with campers' parents
- Perform other duties as designated by the Medical Director & Camp Director
Essential Functions - Ability to assist in staff training
- Ability to observe staff and camper behavior
- Ability to respond to situations that arise with campers (e.g. mental health issues, social conflicts, noncompliance, homesickness, anxiety regarding medical exams at camp)
- Ability to work directly with campers
- Ability to guide staff through the best way for staff to intervene/respond
Specific Qualifications - A valid license to practice psychiatry, psychology, or social work, or certification to work as a child life specialist, in the state in which camp is located
- Experience with pediatric patients; (Preferred: experience with pediatric GI patients)
- Desire and ability to work with children and adults with IBD in a camp setting
