We have a vast network of  more than 40 CCFA chapters and affiliates nationwide—each with its own volunteer board and Chapter Medical Advisory Committee. Each chapter brings the work of the entire Foundation to their local community. You can make a difference by connecting and participating with your local chapter.

  • Join Take Steps Be Heard, our nationwide fundraising walk program that makes it possible for us to fulfill our mission and meet our goals.
  • Test your limits with Team Challenge, our endurance training program.
  •  Send your child to Camp Oasis—our local and regional summer camps for children with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
  • Connect with others who are struggling to cope with inflammatory bowel diseases  (IBD) through one of our 300 support groups.
  • Attend live education seminars and programs geared for patients and health care professionals.
  • Stay informed about upcoming seminars, support groups, and events in your local community through your chapter newsletter or national newsletter.
  • Ride or volunteer for Get Your Guts in Gear: The Ride for Crohn’s and Colitis to help support CCFA.

Newport's Musical Chairs

Newport, KY, July 16, 2015 When it comes to fundraising for a medical charity, you can “Run for a Cure.” Walk, swim, climb and even drive for a cure. Here’s a new twist, now you can raise money for just sitting down. At this year’s Newport Oktoberfest, you can do that in the world’s largest game of musical chairs. It’s a fundraiser for the local Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America affiliate that serves Southwest Ohio and No. Kentucky. “There’s no training or conditioning involved,” said Doug Newberry, event organizer. “It’s the same game you played as a kid, just a whole lot more people… oh, and there is beer, too.” Newport Musical Chairs is an official Guinness World Record attempt is hoping to break a of 8238 people with this attempt. That record has stood for over 15 years and belongs to a school in Singapore. “It’s fun for people of all ages, in a festive setting, and helps raise money for a good cause.” The Musical Chairs event will take place on Sat., Sept. 26 on Newport’s Riverboat Row. Registration is only $2 for early signups – which covers the cost of chair rental. The event is open to individuals 10 and older, as well as school, corporate, and non-corporate teams. There is also a kid’s competition going on simultaneously for those 9 and under. The kids division will use a different set of chairs. There are awards for top finishers in each division. Musical Chairs USA is a fundraiser for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. CCFA is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to finding the cures for Crohn's Disease and ulcerative colitis.
