Milwaukee Area Take Steps A Wonderful Success!
A big THANK YOU to all of our walkers, donors, sponsors and volunteers who made the
Milwaukee CCFA Take Steps event such a wonderful success!
Under cloudy spring skies, teams and individuals came out to have their voices heard regarding
inflammatory bowel disease. Your combined efforts brought in over $79,000 to fund research, education and
support for people who are affected by Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Great job!
Keep your momentum going! Your Take Steps fundraising page is still active, and your
friends, family and co-workers can still donate to your team. Be sure to include your website
address on all of your Thank You letters to your donors.
If you have any questions about the walk, would like to make a donation to Take Steps,
or are interested in participating next year, please visit us at http://www.cctakesteps.org/
or call the Wisconsin Chapter office at (414) 475-5520 and ask for Nadine, Tyler or Dan;
any one of us will be happy to help you.
Again, thank your hard work and commitment; you make the future brighter for everyone suffering from IBD.
Take Steps Comes to Green Bay in 2009!
Let's face it, most people become uneasy discussing Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis once they find out what these diseases entail. Most people would rather not talk about what goes on in the bathroom even though everyone performs common functions in that room each and every day. If you walk into the average toddler's house in this country, you are likely to see the "Everyone Poops" book parents use to aide in potty training. Just a part of normal everyday life.
Take Steps gives all of us the chance to BE HEARD. "Bathroom" discussions are not the most pleasant thing to talk about, but these are REAL diseases which have very real effects on the people who are affected and their families and friends. Only by taking steps to bring about awareness of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis will we be able to fund research, education and support to cure these painful afflictions.
We encourage you to form a team, raise funds and awareness, and join us for an evening of family fun, food, live entertainment and games. The event will end with an early evening walk where team participants will be encouraged to "light up the night" with noise makers and team colors.
