Local experts will inform you of advances in the latest treatment and management of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, two major categories of IBD.  The program will focus on medical, surgical and integrative approaches for managing the diseases and will address new insights.

Registrants will begin the conference in a general session that includes a basic overview of IBD focusing on the cause and treatment options, the benefits of medication adherence, how IBS & IBD are different, IBD and the senior patient, and an update on IBD research.  Nutrition and alternative therapies topics will be followed by a question and answer period for the morning general session.  Registrants can select two (2) of eight (8) break-out courses that span various topics as pediatric IBD, pregnancy and women’s issues, extraintestinal manifestations of IBD, and empowerment for people affected by IBD.  The program ends with a general session on Living with IBD where a psychologist will address managing stress with IBD.  A panel of people affected by Crohn's or colitis will relay their personal experiences on coping with IBD.  Questions and answers will conclude this session.
