Take Steps Walk, Denver - 2013

Many patients feel that they are alone in their struggle with Inflammatory Bowel Diseases -- Crohn's and ulcerative colitis -- not knowing how to explain to others what they go through. Take Steps provides the perfect environment for patients and their families to come together and know they are not alone in this fight. The night is filled with music, food, kids activities, local entertainment and most importantly the company of hundreds of people who truly understand the impacts of IBD.
There is no registration fee to participate in Take Steps but all fundraising participants will receive an event wristband. You must have a wristband to receive food and beverages. Raise $100 and you will receive a Take Steps T-shirt!

Honored Hero
On a local level we want to honor all of those who are dealing with the constant daily struggle that exists with Crohn’s and colitis. Our local honored heroes serve as representatives of all patients who are waging their courageous battles with these chronic diseases, working to increase public awareness and understanding. The Local Honored Hero for the 2013 Denver Take Steps Walk is Ashley Raykovitz.
"My name is Ashley, I am 18 years old, and I was diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease in September 2009. Since my diagnosis, I have spent a lot of time at The Childrens Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. I have endured countless procedures and many surgeries, and I can tell you firsthand that living with this disease sucks. Throughout my journey with Ulcerative Colitis, I have had some really bad days. However, I have tried to keep a positive attitude, and I am so happy to say that, thanks to my wonderful doctors and surgeons, my disease is under control and I feel great!"
Please visit Ashley's Denver Take Steps page for more information about her: online.ccfa.org/ashley
