GEARING UP TOGETHER
It's More than a Ride!

Get Your Guts in Gear – The Ride for Crohn's & Colitis are 3-day, 210-mile cycling events created and produced by Get Your Guts in Gear, Inc. ("GYGIG") to empower people living with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and to raise awareness about these diseases. The Ride also raises funds for research, education, patient support, and advocacy work for Crohn's and colitis.

GEAR UP WITH GYGIG IN 2007!

Texas: March 23-25, 2007

Beginning in historic LaGrange and ending near the city of Austin, the route winds through a variety of landscapes including expansive ranchlands, the Lost Pines, the Guadalupe River and the Hill Country during wildflower season.

New York: June 8-10, 2007

Riders depart from New York City and head north through the Hudson River Valley , one of the most picturesque settings of the Northeast.

Seattle: August 3-5, 2007

GYGIG bicylistCyclists begin north of Seattle in August exploring beautiful Whidbey Island and the summer scenes of the rural Skagit Valley .

All GYGIG routes can be completed by a novice rider with proper training, yet are challenging enough for seasoned cyclists.

GYGIG's Rides provide participants the experience of overcoming physical and mental challenges within a supportive Ride Community. By completing the Ride, many riders (novice and experienced alike) accomplish a goal beyond any achievement they had thought possible.

Cyclists' pre-Ride training and fundraising efforts are supported by GYGIG's experienced staff. Through their fundraising efforts, GYGIG's cyclists will reach thousands of individual sponsors, significantly spreading awareness about IBD. Everyone who rides must raise a minimum of $1,900. In past years, more than half of GYGIG's riders raised in excess of $3,000 each!

Funds are raised for GYGIG, the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America, The Colon Club, the United Ostomy Associations of America, and the IBD Quilt Project -- organizations that are committed to raising awareness, finding a cure, and ending the suffering caused by Crohn's & colitis.

Ride, Crew, or Volunteer!

There is an $85 registration fee for riders and crew. Additionally, each rider is required to raise at least $1,900 prior to each ride in which they wish to participate. Riders must be at least 18 years old on or before the check-in date for the ride. Exceptions may be made for cyclists under 18 if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Contact GYGIG at 718-875-2123, e-mail us at info@ibdride.org, or visit us at www.ibdride.org for more information about how you can gear up with us in 2007!
