Application Submission Deadline: March 15 Award Start Date: On or about June 15 Total Award: $2,500 (indirect costs are not allowed) Duration of Award: One time payment (project must last at least 10 weeks) Objective: This program offers financial support for students to spend time performing research on topics relevant to inflammatory bowel disease for a minimum of 10 weeks. CCFA hopes to stimulate research interest in the areas of Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. Applicant Eligibility: Candidates may be undergraduate, medical or graduate students (not yet engaged in thesis research) in accredited United States institutions. Candidates may not hold similar salary support from other agencies. Award and Requirements: Up to 16 Student Research Fellowship Awards will be available for full time research with a mentor investigating a subject relevant to IBD. Mentors may not be a relative of the applicant and may not work in their lab. The mentor must be a faculty member who directs a research project highly relevant to the study of IBD at an accredited institution. Awards will be payable to the institution, not the individual. A complete financial statement and scientific report are due September 1 of the year of the award. All publications arising from work funded by this project must acknowledge support of CCFA. Grantees that do not fulfill all obligations of the award are prohibited from applying for additional awards.
