CCFA Educational Resources

Below you will find many programs, articles and links to help you manage your IBD patients more effectively:

Inflammatory Bowel Diseases Journal

Inflammatory Bowel Diseases is the first journal dedicated exclusively to IBD. It covers topics of interest to the professional treating patients or conducting research in this burgeoning field. Each monthly issue features original, peer-reviewed articles in clinical and basic science areas, as well as invited in-depth reviews of key treatment issues and groundbreaking research. Coverage includes articles highlighting the unique and important issues in pediatric IBD, as well as articles pertaining to adult patients.

Also included are critical examinations of the design and results of recent clinical trials; elucidative discussions of controversial diagnostic and management issues and techniques; and summaries of significant articles from around the world with relevant commentary by experts in the field. Inflammatory Bowel Diseases is a benefit of Professional Membership in CCFA (at some membership levels). The cost of a Professional Membership is less than a stand-alone subscription to the journal.

Live Programs

CCFA offers live seminars and CME programs around the country through our local chapters. The programs range from nationally accredited CME content on cancer and dysplasia, managing IBD across the patient spectrum, and advances in IBD surgery, to professional conferences with local presenters. Clinical Training Programs

For almost 40 years, the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) has supported research grant programs to develop and encourage the best and brightest researchers. Now, CCFA wants to develop and encourage the best and brightest clinical physicians who have an extensive understanding of how to diagnose, treat, and manage patients with inflammatory bowel disease.

CCFA has launched two pilot programs, the CCFA National Preceptorship, a program for community gastroenterologists, and the CCFA National One Month Fellowship for gastroenterology fellows. These programs are designed to result in better IBD care for all patients -- regardless of geography or economics; expand and enhance the role of the CCFA in IBD training nationwide; and promote a new and larger generation of highly trained clinical IBD doctors.

These professional Webcasts were designed to deliver information on hot topics in IBD in a convenient, easily accessible, on-line format. Our Webcasts generally consist of case presentations or panel discussions presented by thought leaders in the IBD community. Previous Webcasts have included cancer and dysplasia, complications of IBD, and current and emerging therapies.
