I was officially diagnosed with Crohn's disease in May 2013 after I had to have emergency surgery for a small bowel obstruction. I had 9 inches of my small intestine removed and was in the hospital for a week. However, I had been suffering from intense intestinal cramps two years prior to that. I was severely malnourished, anemic, and just did not feel well from Freshman year of college until my diagnosis. Thanks to my wonderful doctors I am currently in remission :)
