Make a Difference Our advocacy efforts seek positive change in the quality of life for Crohn's and colitis patients through legislative initiatives. We've already had a lot of success, most recently with the Research Review Act of 2004, but there's still plenty to be done.
On the last day before the August recess, legislators who have championed our cause in the past introduced the IBD Research Bill to the House of Representatives. The IBD Research Bill seeks to dramatically expand funding for IBD research, with a focus on pediatric research, at a time when the federal budgets for such activities are being slashed. - You can help us address this crisis in research funding by writing to your legislators in support of the IBD Research Bill. Your legislators are in Congress to represent YOU, make sure they know how important the quality of life for Crohn's and colitis patients is to you.
- Making legislative visits to your local legislator's home office is an effective tool in gaining support for the IBD Research Bill. Learn how to make your home visit as effective as possible.
- Most importantly, if you haven't already, join the National IBD Advocacy Network. We'll keep you apprised, via e-mail, of all the latest advocacy initiatives and what you can do to help.
Keep up the great work!
